About the show

In the first half, Joel Salatin, a Virginia-based ecological farmer and author, discussed the state of America's food system, farming practices, and the challenges facing farmers today. Salatin advocated for sustainable agriculture and offered a critical assessment of the current food landscape. He graded the American food system a "D or maybe an F+" for all its ultra-processed foods laden with additives that add no nutritional value. "America is #1 in the world in chronic, non-infectious morbidity," he said, attributing the country's poor health to the processed food industry and government policies.

Salatin described the ongoing consolidation and decline of American farms, noting that the average farmer is now 60 years old. "Every year we're losing thousands of farms," he explained, adding that many farms are rented out rather than sold and end up in the hands of large investors. According to Salatin, there's also a new farm crisis driven by skyrocketing costs for fertilizers and pesticides.

Looking ahead, he proposed a flexible solution for "food freedom." He called for a "Food Emancipation Proclamation" that would allow individuals to sell homemade products without government permission. Currently, restrictive regulations prohibit small-scale food sales, forcing newer farmers out of many food markets. "If young people can't enter farming and old people can't exit, we have a logjam," he said. Salatin believes that removing these barriers would enable thousands of entrepreneurial farmers to thrive.

In the second half, metaphysical sci-fi author R.M. Almonte explored the phenomenon of time slips and time travel. Drawing from personal paranormal experiences and extensive research, he offered insights into the enigmatic "fog" often linked with anomalous time shifts. Almonte described these time slips as moments when individuals unexpectedly find themselves displaced in time, sometimes stepping into different eras or realities. He suggested that plasma—a state of matter involving ionized gases—might play a crucial role in creating these temporal anomalies, possibly through electrically charged fog or mist that acts as a portal or vortex.

Almonte shared experiences involving fog or mist, often described as thick, blinding, or colorful (notably green), which accompanies time travel. One notable case involved pilots flying from San Juan to Florida who encountered a green fog, only to find themselves 100 miles ahead and arriving earlier than expected. He also differentiated between accidental and intentional time travel. According to Almonte, accidental slips occur without warning, such as a famous 1901 incident in France where two women reportedly saw Marie Antoinette and people dressed in period attire. Intentional travel, he claimed, has been explored in projects like Project Pegasus, where efforts were allegedly made to harness plasma and electromagnetic fields to facilitate temporal movement.

Almonte also discussed the possibility of time travel through meditation and altered states of consciousness. He recounted the story of a Japanese monk named Khan who claimed to have teleported during deep meditation, as well as his own lucid dream experiences where he shifted time within his dream state. "If you put yourself in the right zone, where time and matter don't really affect you the same way, you can move forward and back," Almonte said.
