Japan Investigates High Number of UAP

Unusual activity in the skies over Japan has raised concern among the country's top officials. Lawmakers are now assembling a committee of over 80 members to demystify the high number of unidentified aerial phenomena, or UAP, in the region.

The investigation is the result of international alarm over Japanese airspace. Following last year's highly publicized US congressional hearings on UAP, the Pentagon issued a report that classified Japan as a "hotspot" for such sightings. Yoshiharu Asakawa, a member of the newly formed committee, pointed out that many citizens view UAP as "an occult matter that has nothing to do with politics." However, others worry that these flying objects over East Asia could be Chinese spy planes with more sinister motives.

"If they turn out to be cutting-edge weapons from other countries or unmanned reconnaissance planes... they can be a serious threat to our country's security," Asakawa said. He claims to have witnessed these possible threats firsthand in a statement echoed by his colleague Kei Endo. The legislators are seeking to establish an agency similar to the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office in the US, which focuses on identifying mysterious aircraft to protect national security.

Japan is indeed no stranger to unexplained lights passing through its atmosphere. In the past decade there have been sightings of white globes over Osaka, a green orb in Niigata, and other eerie illuminations. The government believes its military will greatly benefit from labeling, intercepting, and studying these elusive phenomena, whether their technology is of this world or beyond.
